The Picos de Europa National Park is a pristine playground for all sorts of fun, healthy, outdoor activities and we will be including some really exciting ones in our itinerary as well as facilitating others organised by external providers! You can read below some of the things we will be doing or are currently projecting:
The Most Remote DNB Pub Quiz
Get your teams ready and brush up on your music culture knowledge! Our drum and bass pub quiz has become a common favourite of attendees to our experience and this year we’re back with a truly special edition, once again hosted by some of our favourite musicians! Taking place in a truly special, remote location, nestled in the mountains of Picos De Europa, we will be having this year’s edition in one of the most remote bars in the country!
Open Decks Events (Slots bookable)
As always, we will organise open decks sessions for any amateur DJs at our event to get involved in! We often have high demand for these so we will run a registration sheet prior to the event so we can organise time slots.
Days of Rest, Nature & Downtime
You spoke and we listened! This year we have tried to get a better balance between night parties, daytime activities and time to disconnect and enjoy the beautiful places we will be visiting. So, we have included “chilled out” days where we will focus on relaxing, mind & body wellness, unwinding and appreciating nature as well as some social, fun events and activities.
Mountain Sound Healing Sessions with Riya & Voice Mc (Bookable)
Did you know that, aside from incredible vocalists, Riya & Voice Mc are also qualified sound healers….? Yup, that is true, and this year they’ll be very kindly driving all the way from the UK with their gear so you can join in! Expect a deeply nature-connected sound healing session in the most stunning landscape you can think of…..
Mountain Reiki with Collette Warren (Bookable)
Who said musicians were all about music……? Well, not Collette Warren! A qualified, experienced Reiki Master Teacher for years now, she will be offering a few sessions surrounded by the most incredible scenery we can find! Keep your eyes on our emails for more info!
Keep Fit with Katalyst
….and since we’re mentioning “side-talents” to some of our favourite artists, Katalyst is also a personal trainer and physiotherapist! Bring a pair of runners and comfy clothes and come to “Wake and shake” to the most exclusive and super fun DnB fitness class at the top of the mountains!
The Great Excursion To…(Bookable)
Every Mountain Bass Experience so far has offered a “Great excursion to….”, and this one will not disappoint! The Picos De Europa national park is vast with areas difficult to access. Whilst we’ve done our best to take you to what we think are the best spots, there are some truly magical areas that are not easy to get to! Because of this, we will be going on a day trip to another, remote, beautiful location only accessible via high mountain trails and off road paths. We will facilitate multiple forms of access from off road motorbikes, mountain bikes, horse riding and 4x4 vehicles to join us on a magical journey through the mountains.
Astronomy Sessions (Bookable)
Last year we were all disappointed that the Astronomy Session in Sierra Nevada was cancelled due to snowy weather so we just had to try it again! Completely tucked away from cities and light pollution, this area is ideal for star gazing and astronomy! We are currently engaging a local operator to deliver us an exclusive, tailored session and will be providing more details soon!
Social Picnics and BBQ’s
Those of you who have joined us on our journey for the last two years already know that The Experience is more than just a trip organised between club members with a common love for music and nature - it is also a social endeavour with a strong emphasis on binding our community of like-minded people! Expect picnics, BBQ’s and all sorts of events to get us spending time together with an awe-inspiring backdrop!
Other External activities (payable to external providers)
Aside from spending time together, partying at night and enjoying nature in the day, the area has lots of super interesting externally provided activities that you can book and do! Some of our favourites include hiking tours, via ferratas/climbing, 4x4 tours, horse-riding, motorcycle tours, food & drink tastings….. You name it! Closer to the dates we will be sharing more information with you to help you find local tourist operators to keep you entertained and ticking-off your bucket list! See below for our current options!
VIA FERRATTA & ROCK CLIMBING (45€ or less, payable to Picos Extreme)
This was a huge hit last year! Rock climbing is standard rock climbing and abseiling while the Via Ferrata combines rock climbing with trapezes, bridges, swings and fun obstacles located high up on the side of the mountains! Think more of a suspended climbing obstacle course! The activity will take 2.5 hrs + travel time (approx. 15mins) and costs a maximum of 45€ per person (the bigger the group, the cheaper). The cost includes all equipment, guide, insurance, permits, etc. and this activity is suitable for all levels and ages, from complete newbie to expert climber. We will send a registration form in advance of travel dates to all members) with all equipment and insurances included.
Via Ferrata & rock climbing are provided by Picos Xtreme
CANYONING (60€ or less, payable to Picos Extreme)
This activity will take you to La Hermida, a beautiful gorge where you'll be climbing up and down waterfalls, jumping from height into water, sliding through water ramps and generally having a blast whilst getting wet and wild! The activity will take approx. 3.5hrs + travel time (approx. 45mins). All equipment, wet suites, helmets, harnesses, insurance, permits and an experienced, friendly guide are included and this activity is suitable for all levels and ages from amateur to expert. This costs a maximum of 60€ (the bigger the group, the cheaper) per person and we will send a registration form in advance of travel dates to all members.
Canyoning is provided by Picos Xtreme
HORSE RIDING (from 25€, payable to PicosTour)
Picos Tour offer horse riding tours around the beautiful area of Fuente Dé. You can chose between 1h (25€), 1h30 (35€) or 2h (40€). Bookings can be made for a minimum on 1 person (in this case they'll match you with another group) and up to 10 people in the same group. You can book directly with them through the phone numbers or email contacts on their website here PicosTour.
